Orange Belt!

I passed my grading! WHOO  HOO! :)

I'm now an orange belt, oh yeah!
I wasn't as nervous as my first grading-I knew what to expect, but what I wasn't expecting was the Sensei's to leave out one of the 3*minute sparring round/3*minute exercise round! But that was good- I really don't like the burpies/sparring.

Purple belt here I come-at the end of 2017! :)

P.S: I will upload a photo soon.

Martial arts. :)

Even though I couldn't do athletics today, (because of hip injuries) I still wanted to do my martial arts. And boy am I glad I did because it meant that I got my Yellow belt grading certificate! :) Due to tech issues, my photo has not down loaded.

Martial arts Grading for yellow belt success

Last Sunday, I did a grading for my hobby, martial arts.
I was really, really nervous, but that is probably due to the fact that it was only my first grading.

It was full of exercise and kick routines and press ups and sit-ups and jumping, spinning roundhouse kicks which I can't do, they must green belt or something.
Any way, sometimes us 4 white belts, sometimes we would sit out while the higher belts graded, and vice versa.

But in the end I passed, and I tell you what they made us (white belts) do.

Okay, white belts, come up here and kneel and close your eyes, do not open them or you could fail your test! (This was after everything else that I just said.)
Everyone else, go sit over there. Connor must have pointed over to the corner where I was sitting ‘cus I heard them all came and kneel next to me.
Okay, open your eyes now.
In front of each of us was a sheet, I had no idea what it was, but it was my grading sheet.
Okay, look behind you, and behind each of us was a yellow belt, we had all passed!
Take you white belts off and put your new belts on and stand up.
Leon and this other guy had got normal yellow belts that had a horizontal white stripe in the middle. Sam, an adult, had got a full yellow belt and he revived tips, which I guess is like bonus point.
Me smiling.I had been given a partial golden belt! This belt is a dark orange, yellow belt, I think it is the highest sub-belt in the yellow belt area, Vinny said that this was like my tips but instead I got this one.  This made me feel immensely happy and proud.

So, watch out orange belt, here I come! :)

These pics are of me with my new belt, cool yeah?
:)
Me in a left foot forward fighting stance, keia!

Martial arts.

My martial arts is getting better, the grading is in one week!
It will go for about one hour on Sunday the 28/9/16. I'm really excited to become a yellow belt, Casey is going for full orange or purple I think.  Good for her, Mich is going for full yellow I believe.

I'm really enjoying it and when mum gets a photo of me with a yellow belt, I'll post again with the photo, two more sessions! AHH, the pressure!

WPCA best experience writing.

My life so far has been dotted with the really fun things in life. Such as going to Australia.

WPCA has made those really fun things more often.

I LOVED ropes day, it was the best day of my life, and when I flew high into the sky on that beautiful day doing the flying kiwi, my feeling of happiness just exploded into the sky like a firework with me.

Me on the flying kiwi.

WPCA has opened up a bunch of new experiences for me and I have enjoyed the lot of them at  at least one point. Ropes day is my favourite by far because it pushed me to my limits until I broke through those limits. Breaking those limits has opened up a whole new world of possibilities, and now I look at the world seeing opportunities at every corner with new eyes.
Like the other day, I was looking at some straws, and now, I'm in the process of making a wind-chime with them, WPCA has made a little bit more creative I think, and that, is really, really good!

Cave Stream was another favourite.

The worst thing: going down in my thermals to check the water level, then have to come back up. Then having to walk over to the other side of the hill and walk all the way down to the entrance of the best cave of my life.
The best thing: walking into the cave and having the water com up to my cease in a FREEZING wave  of coldness. Also, seeing the formations that I thought you only find in an ice cave.

Hawdon hut was okay, the boulder hopping was my favourite part aside from finishing.
I also felt very special that I actually got to sit next to you, William, on the way there and back!
And that photo I got of you standing next to me is super special.

I can not wait until the Lake Daniel night tramp, I bet that that is going to be super fun! :)

Thank you WPCA for for opening a whole new world for me in your journey taking very one out of their comfort zone, you certainly made bash through the walls of my comfort zone and into the unknown!

Good luck and I hope you continue doing WPCA for a long, long time. :)

Does anyone have any feed back for me before I email this to William Pike?

Community service.

I HAVE DONE 24 HOURS!
WOO HOO!
IT IS DONE!

I have finished the 20 hours of community service that we had to complete by the end of the year.  I spent two or three afternoons a week at Little Ones Preschool helping out with the children.  It was very handy for me as then I just had to ride my bike home as I usually do from school.

I enjoyed spending time with the little kids and even though I have completed my 20 hours I will still continue with some more hours but now the pressure is off and I don't have to worry about it any more. I will just keep on plugging away at it and then maybe, I'll get 30 hours done?!

Martial Arts.

I do Martial arts for my hobby.
I started doing martial arts because of last year, when the year 7 and 8 girls did the self defence 6 week long course and I really enjoyed that.  So for my hobby, I decided to do martial arts and I really enjoy it and I now have a new friend called Casey, she is an orange belt, level 3.
I'm a white belt at the moment, but the next grading is in August and so then I will hopefully pass and become a yellow belt.

I really enjoy doing my martial arts, so maybe I'll continue in high-school.

Kaipoi to Rangiora fun run/walk.

12km run/walk! :)

Chrissie and me at the finish line.
me at the end of the run, looking completely shattered.

this was all of us from loburn (except Haylley.) at the start line!  :)

Okay, it took me 1hr 51min to complete this run/walk.
I did it with my friend Chrissie, who is a really fast walker so we had a really quick pace.  I'm not going to go into details but I'll give you a quick brief.

So, we all finally started the run.  I was amazed about how fast I reached the 2km mark.  I had already passed mum and Keira's friends.  It was really nice to do this walk because all of the marshals were nice and gave you support!
3kms = water stop.
WOW!  5km mark!  Already!  :)
At this point, I ran for a wee bit, Chrissie still caught me up though.
Riley ran past me, 10 min later, still walking mind you, I passed Riley. YAY!!! :)
HALFWAY!!! (6KM!)
Chrissie was a really good box full of support.
finally we reached a marshal that said: two more corners to go! YAY!!

I reached the park, at this point Chrissie was in front of me, I started to run. I passed Chrissie, she told me to keep going, I passed another group of people and they cheered me on, soon my friends who had already finished, ran to the fence line and cheered me through the finish line! Finally! that's one more WPCA thing that I don't have to worry about!
I recommend you do this walk next year, its really good! Bye!

Mt Grey

Hi! This is me at the top of Mt grey, really good views.  So I have completed one of my activities that I have to do in my spare time,  YAY!   :)

Okay, I did this mountain with my family and Keira's best friend, Casey Kirwan.
It took me, about 3- 3 and a half hours to complete it.
It was very steep in some places, but we got there in the end and Mum took lots of photos.  It was funny because, when we got to the top, 5 minutes later, the Yardleys turned up! :)
We had a chat and then we left.  It took me about an hour and a half to get back to the car, dad left me some arrows to show me the way when I was a bit behind and wouldn't know where to go.  On the way up there, when you're nearing the hut on the blind summit, it got rather wet, I don't mean it started to rain, because it didn't, the bushes where just very wet.  Then we had a muesli bar and a lollie or two, well, I did at least.  Some people turned up and asked if this was the summit, our answer was no, it was at least another 30 min to the top.
