Akaroa.

AKAROA

On the 23/2/16 after school, Dad, Keira and myself went to Akaroa.  What a coincidence; it being a French settlement and at school we're learning about the Treaty of Waitangi.

Mum had gone up to Akaroa a day before with her parents so we would get to see them when we got up to Akaroa.  It took forever!

We had a barbeque that night for tea, it was delicious. Then we all went to bed.
The next morning, I got out of bed at 9:20am, I was that tired.
Today was Keira's birthday.  She turned 10!  Mum and Dad wouldn't let Keira open her presents until I woke up.  They ended up waking me up.  We all went to Bullyhayes for lunch.
Before tea, Dad, Keira and I went fishing.  I caught my first fish!  Well, technically I foul hooked it, I got it near the tail.  WOO HOO!!!!!  :)   After me, Dad caught one, he foul hooked it too, got it near the gills.
That same night, we had fish and chips for tea.  After tea I went down to the wharf.  It was high tide and part of the wharf was under water.  I wanted to have a swim.
10 min later Dad came down to Keira and I at the wharf, 5 min later, we saw a sting ray- oh. Within the next 15 min, I saw another 2 sting rays, no swimming today! :(
You DO NOT, see that every day.  :)
The next day, we had brunch at Bullyhayes, Keira and I had pancakes, they were HUGE!!!!!!  DELICIOUS!!!! :)
After lunch, we all got in the cars and went home.
Family time!  :)
But, before we got home, we all went to:
CIRQUE DU SOLEIL!!!
We weren't allowed to take photos, but, believe me it was amazing!  I'm not going to describe it, because that would spoil the fun, but if you want, if you go to loburn school, come and ask me about it and I might tell you about some of it....
When we got home it was teeth and bed, we had had Subway on the way home. Finally a night that doesn't have cicadas buzzing in your ear, well, not IN your ear but out the window, you get what I mean.

This is Hoppy the seagull, he only has one foot.

  1. Akaroa is a magic place Rhianna, I really enjoy it when I go over there. That is a bonus seeing a stingray. Last year when I was on camp at Wainui, which is half way to Akaroa, we were swimming down at the beach when an Orca whale came right into the shore. That was amazing. You will have enjoyed being with your Grandparents, these are very special times.
